Speaking of reclamation: There is another Utopia-burning, every time an initiative or idea is dismissed as "utopian"... not only does whatever the idea was turn to ash, but the dignity and legitimacy of Dreamland are ritually immolated.

Utopia, and its citizens, are the fantasy life of the progressive, of the curious, of anybody who suspects or knows from experience that Freud's three stages of development are a pretty primitive account of "growing up". Aren't you glad he never claimed to be putting forward a theory of human development?
